Taylor's Awesome Book Reviews

Check out some of my reviews of some awesome books!

Congrats Self… Sigh.

on July 18, 2013

I have now overloaded myself with e-copies that I want to read/review.  … What is considered an “overloaded” status? Like, 5, right?  No. I wish.

16 titles from netgalley (which means they have deadlines…)

56 titles from Kindle (I don’t think any of them have deadlines….)

This does not include the physical books that I have received from goodreads … nor does it include the couple of e-books that I received from the authors themselves.

It also does not include the other books that I own that I want to review either…

This was my face when I was trying to understand Faulkner. … It is also my face when I am trying to figure out what to do with all of these books…

Welcome to the club. Even realize that “1” book from Netgalley grows into 3 or 5 or 8. That is why I was so excited about having a break from school. I thought “Finally! A chance to catch up”. Yeah right. As far as what to do with the books? Read them! (This why it’s not recommended to start reaching out to publishers when you first start out, lol!) If you do better with a system, try some out. Connect with other book review bloggers and see what their method is.There’s a new idea of putting names of books in a jar (a jar for each pile -review, fun, TBR, etc…) and picking one out of each for the week. There is choosing a monthly theme….lots of ideas available. Well I must go… I’m reading chunky books this week so….

I like the idea of the name-in-the-jar thing. Definitely will try that out! Starting next week … Cannot wait until Praxis 2 is over!!

Are they relatively short books, or are we talking War and Peace here?

Most are between 200-300 words. So, not huge, but sadly not short enough for one sitting (perhaps if nothing else was going on within the house, but that’s a very unlikely scenario…)
